Licensed Pharmacist

We found out on the 14th that Chase passed both of his board exams and was officially a licensed pharmacist! YAY!! He took his state law/jurisprudence exam on the 7th and was notified in the mail a few days later that he passed with an 81 (he needed 75 to pass) and then took his national board on the 11th and checked the status of his intern license online until it turned from pharmacy intern to pharmacist! Of course, we had to go celebrate and the whole family went to Chili's for dinner that night. A few days later, he got the notification in the mail too and then his license came just a few days ago.  So from that time forward, he started making pharmacist wages, which will be nice when it comes time to start paying on those student loans.  He has been working with other pharmacists until he was officially licensed and was on his own for the 1st time this past Wednesday.  I am so proud of him and all the hard work he has put into providing for his family.  Work has been a little stressful for him because his store is unorganized since they have had temp pharmacists in there for the past month or two.  He has had to go in early, stay late, and go in on his days off in order to try to get things in order.  Hopefully it will all turn out ok and he won't come home so stressed every day.

I went for another midwife appointment this past Friday and they determined that the baby had flipped and is now head down.  All that worrying for nothing! I'm so glad she has flipped and that I won't have to deliver a breech baby!  She has been super active these past few days, moving and kicking almost non-stop all day, but especially when I lay down at night to go to sleep.  My heartburn is getting worse at night and I have to sit up quite a bit in order to sleep, which is terribly uncomfortable and leads to a lack of sound sleep.  So, of course, I'm a little tired and drained of energy.  I feel very, very hot these days.  I can't keep the house or my rooms at work cool enough to be comfortable.  My poor co-workers; I am totally freezing them out of the office just so I can get through my days.  The fact that the baby turned made her drop down into my pelvis a little more, causing more hip and back pain and leading to my very first stretch marks.  Chase noticed them one day because they are under my belly, but I contribute them to the fact that my skin stretched so quickly down there when she flipped...ya we'll go with that excuse.... I was really hoping I would get away without any stretch marks (not really expecting that outcome, but still hoping).  For some reason, Chase didn't understand why I was so upset about getting stretch marks; he just laughed at how distraught I was! :-)  I decided yesterday that 9 months is a long time to be so uncomfortable, but I know it is necessary.  During my 2nd trimester, I felt so great that I was wondering why so many women were so tired of being pregnant by the end of their 40 weeks, but I am starting to understand and I know its only going to get worse!! I have 7 weeks left until my due date (and 7 weeks left of work until maternity leave) and I know that I just have to take it one day at a time.  Here's to hoping that the days go by fast!

New Car and 4th of July

We got a new car!!  Last Saturday we went to the Ford dealership in Sandy just to test drive some Edge's.  After looking around, we found 2 Edge's we wanted to test drive and also an Explorer.  After driving the 2 Edge's, we decided we didn't need to drive the Explorer because we thought it would be pretty comparable.  We did look at all the interior, and realized that we liked the size of it better than the Edge.  It was also $1,000 less than the Edge, but didn't have leather, and also only got 1mpg less than the Edge (because it is the 4 cyl ecoboost motor).  We figured it was so much more car for less price and about the same mileage, so we went inside and had them draw up some figures for the Explorer, just so we could get an idea of where to start bargaining with other ones that we would look at.  While we were waiting for them to discuss their price, we realized that we didn't even know what color the interior and exterior were and I had to go out and see!  So not like me!  Well after just some slight bargaining, we got the price down to less than X-plan price (employee pricing) and didn't figure we would get a better deal than that, so we decided to go for it.  I hate we did that, because it is so typical, but it was a lot easier that way.  We knew there were not any more ecoboost motors in the entire valley, and knew we really wanted it, so we didn't feel like waiting for any more to show up either.  So we went ahead and bought the car and took it home that day.  We drove to show it to everyone in the family and everyone was as surprised as I was that we got it.

We had such a relaxing and fun 4th of July this year.  We spent the morning washing and cleaning out the Accord to get it ready to sell.  It was so nice to spend some time in the sun, but I failed to put any sunblock on, so I got pretty burnt.  The car looks really good though!  If anyone is interested in buying it, let me know!

Later that day, we went up to Melissa's for a BBQ and fireworks.  We had chicken and steak, potato salad, chips, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.  Yummy! We lit fireworks out in the street.  The kids loved watching them and holding sparklers.  We didn't go see any big city shows because we didn't feel like dealing with all the traffic.  We had a great, relaxing time.

On July 2nd, I went in for another ultrasound and midwife appointment.  They wanted to check the position of my placenta to make sure it had moved up and out of the way.  According to the ultrasound, it has moved up quite a bit, which is a relief.  The baby is still a girl, she doesn't have cleft lip/palate, and she is still in the breech position.  I was given instructions on how to try to get her to flip.  I really hope she does flip!!  My midwife appointment went well also.  They tested my blood sugar for gestational diabetes and it was 99, which is perfect! Yay!!  I heard the heartbeat again and it was a little slower this time, but they still said it was ok.  My blood pressure and other vitals looked great also.

It's still a girl! :)

I had a few coupons for Kohl's and have been on a couple shopping trips for baby clothes.  Chase has figured out that I'm getting pretty excited for the baby to come! I also found some matching outfits for our baby and my sister's baby - it's going to be so cute and make great pictures!  We've been doing more with planning baby showers for the end of this month and the beginning of next month.  I'm excited for that so that I can start putting her room together.

Chase started his first day of training at work on the 27th.  He feels pretty confident and is learning about everything it will take to be the pharmacy manager.  It is nice to have another paycheck coming in!  Chase is excited to work again and has been busy studying for his boards this Saturday and this Wednesday.  Good luck!! I'm so nervous! Everyone please pray for Chase!

Last Friday we went to Shauna's for Jaycee's 1st birthday party.  We had Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner and visited and did some small fireworks when it got dark. Chase's cousin Lauren was in town so we got to spend some time with her too!  Fun times!

I only had to work on Tuesday this week and it was glorious!! I really look forward to only having to work 2 days a week when the baby comes!
