August

August was particularly rainy, which dampened our ability to go boating.  But we still did the best we could going after work and on weekends.  Sometimes we got rained on, sometimes we had to leave because of wind, but we did get a lot of good boating in.

It took a while, but Chase finally was able to stand up on the wakeboard. Yippie!

August 6 – There was a bike race that went all through Utah and happened to come right by our house. We joined some neighbors to take pictures and cheer on the racers. We were in awe at how many support vehicles there were that just followed them everywhere they went.

August 11 – Colton can ALMOST roll over from back to front.

August 15 – Juliet was asked by a neighbor to model a princess dress and hair bow that she was selling. I loved it so much! The prettiest Snow White around!

August 16 – We took a drive up American Fork Canyon and had a little camp fire with s'mores and just a little time to relax and enjoy our family.

August 22 – We went to JCPenny Portrait Studio and had more family pictures taken. These were for Juliet's 2 year pictures and Colton's 3 month pictures. They turned out so cute! Before we went, we gave Colton his very first haircut.(Pictures on the next post)

August 23 – The kids and I went to the Stake breakfast with activities after. Juliet loved the big bounce house. After that, we went to a baby shower for our friend Holly Tullis. They had these little adhesive mustaches that Juliet really loved to wear. Can't you tell??

There was a lot of boating that went on during August while we tried to sell the boat. It never did sell, so I guess we'll keep it for a while. We really did have so much fun on it and were so glad we could invite friends and family to go with us. We made it a tradition to go to Chick-fil-a after the lake every time. Yum yum!

August was particularly rainy this year. It seems to rain almost the whole month, and usually right as we were getting ready to go to the lake. When it did rain, it was a huge downpour that flooded our backyard and our basement (just a little).

August was filled with more fun for me and the kids at Thanksgiving Point. We went to a Monday night family activity at the gardens that was an end of summer water party. We went to the 18 wheeler truck show at Electric Park. They said that we could get in the trucks and look around. Funny thing is, that right after I put Juliet in this particular truck, I looked behind the seat and saw the owner taking a nap in the bed. I felt so bad! I just HAD to pick THAT truck! We also got to go on a little train ride there. It was pulled by a side by side 4 wheeler and he was a crazy driver! I was a little sick by the time the ride was over having no suspension in the train cars. We also enjoyed the A/C of the dinosaur museum and the pony rides at the Farm with Juliet's BFF, Emmy. We played at the park and the splash pad outside The Museum of Natural Curiosity.

We also had other fun things this month, including a very sweet, surprise baby shower for our neighbor Jackie Winget, a birthday party for Damien and Spencer at the park, the baby blessing of cousin Dane's sweet baby boy, a BBQ with the Blackham's, the beginning of BYU football season, and lots of presidency meetings for my new calling as Primary Secretary in our newly formed ward.

Here's some more pictures and videos of the kids. They are so entertaining to their parents!
